Bluepump installation
Before the installation
- Fit a locknut on all the rods
- Glue a socket on each pipe PVC 70 / 80 mm and the flange on the last pipe

- Drill a borehole Ø6 – 8 inches until you have
at least > 700 l/h
or use an existing borehole and then proceed with nr. 8, or in
the case of
replacing an old handpump with nr. 11.
- Install a PVC casing Ø4 - 4,5 inch with a
filter screen of 0,5 – 0,7
mm.(Bluepump 70 / 80 mm casing can also be used by itself, without
using other casing)
- Measure the groundwater level and calculate
installation depth:
>> 5 m below (seasonal) water table fluctuations.
- Temporarily close the top.
- Put filter sand around the filter screen.
- Put clay packer on top of filter sand.
- Fill in the space around the casing.
- Construct platform (100x30x200cm).
- Construct pedestal (50x50x70 cm), use the mold
to place the 4 anchor
bolts. Wait 5 days for the cement to harden.
- Make an open >> 5m. cemented
drainage line towards an
infiltration pit.
- Fit the blue pump box on the anchor bolts or on
the existing pedestal.
- Attach the rope to the cylinder pipe and wrap
the rope around the
handle stop.
- Lower with the rope the pipes inside the
borehole, use handle
bearings bolts to secure the rope during the gluing.
- Glue the next pipe into the socket. Use the
anchor mold to hold the
pipe while pushing the pipe into the socket. Lower directly the pipes
in the
borehole; the rope will hold the weight of the pipes.
- The flange comes on the last pipe. Wait 10
minutes for the glue to
harden before hanging all the pipes on the flange.
- Secure the end of the installation rope inside
blue box.
- Connect piston rod with pump rod and lower
cylinder slowly inside
the pipe.
- Lower all rods inside the pipe; secure
centralizer and all nuts
firmly by using two spanners. Use of Loctite is optional. Secure the
rod
bearing to the last rod.
- With the last rod the conical cylinder top
should enter into the
PVC conical seat.
- Move the rods slowly up until you feel that the
piston touches the
top of the cylinder. Free space should be > 10 cm.
- Fit T-piece inside blue box. Put a plastic
extension pipe over the
outflow. Equally tighten the 4 nuts to avoid leakage.
- Fit the spout to the blue box and secure the 2
round nuts inside
the blue box.
- Fit the handle with the bearings to the blue
box and connect the
rod bearing.
- Measure the discharge per minute, and verify
that the water level
inside the PVC pipes does not drop after pumping.
- Close the blue pump box with the special key and the Bluepump is ready for operation.
